This special edition of the Research in Business and Economics Journal contains the papers that were presented at the Florida Regional Economic Symposium. All papers published herein have been peer reviewed.

Florida Southern College presented its first Florida Regional Economic Symposium on April 8, 2011. Supported by the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce and the Academic and Business Research Institute, expert panelists presented, discussed and analyzed economic indicators that impact Florida businesses, job seekers, and residents. The second Symposium was held at Florida Southern College on April 13, 2012 and it will continue as an annual event.

This information helped attendees understand how economic data is collected and measured, and its implication on local policy, giving them a valuable new perspective when making personal and professional financial decisions.

The Research in Business and Economics Journal is listed in the Cabell's Directory of Publishing Opportunities.
